day ritual

• Go to the market or laundromat to try new jokes on random customers.

• Rewrite jokes that bombed. Console self by remembering that some customers did not understand English and/or ran away before the punchline.

• Shower, using lucky loofah.

• Get dressed, print set list and witty intro for the MC's use.

• Examine Aquafina water bottle (16.9 oz) for leaks or a loose label.

• Drive to venue early to nab a good parking spot.

• Wait two hours for the other comics to saunter in. Act like I arrived a mere four minutes before they did.

• Do my very best on stage. Try not to look surprised when people laugh.
